There is a point. I was so worried that this book would have a plot too close to Throne of Glass and that the characters would also bare that same fate. My other reviews for this series: BUT, midway through the book, things turned around magnificently. What it tells us is that men fight because they're warriors, chiefs, or want power, whereas women only do it because they have to. It's SJM after all.
